My girl is at stud, and somewhat unusually for her is showing no signs of coming into season (normally you can't miss it, she is very messy). They have determined that there is one big follicle so she was injected yesterday. Fingers crossed for the next few days that she comes into season otherwise I think we really will have missed our window of opportunity this year

GOOD LUCK

If she has got a big follicle sat there she will do one of two things IMO
She come in very quickly and ovulated very quickly and the stud will have to make sure they are quick to catch her OR she'll do what my mare did last year sit on the big follicle refuse to ovulate it (even though in season and with 2 lots of ovuplant!!) and then receed it and pop up a new one! (She took btw, on that follicle but it was abit embarassing having to request 3 lots of chilled semen in one week for 1 mare and your vet is one of the best in the country!!

Poor you! It's so nerve-wracking waiting for mares to come in season, and then even worse waiting for the scan...

I have only experienced this vicariously, as I have no mares of my own - but I seem to torture myself with anxiety over the seasons and scans of each and every mare that is bred to my stallion!

So I've now been through this about 20 times this year - and even just as the stally-owner it is exhausting: I hate to think what it's like for the poor mare-owners!

I don't how those of you with lots of mares manage to cope with all this anxious waiting - although in a way it's probably worse if you just have the one much-loved mare?

At least with lots of mares the odds are that some of them will get in foal, although by S*d's Law it's bound to be your favourite that doesn't...

Does anyone have any tips on how to make this easier for Watcher? I've had some mare-owners who have phoned or texted or emailed me every day during these anxious periods - just to talk about their mares and share the worries with someone who was equally concerned. That seemed to help them a bit!

Alcohol!

I am really keeping my fingers crossed for this pairing, a real HHO baby!!! Fortunately I can't find a green eyed monster smilie anywhere, wishing all concerned well.
