Some idiot has been in our place I expect to nick somthing left the gate open and we just had two horses on dual carriageway.

Luckily a car missed them and two very kind people in a horsebox caught them before they got killed.

Both are ok, driver of car is shaken but unhurt.

Just sat here angry and shaken after thiking about what could have happened.

Similar thing hapened at my old yard.
Some muppets took a gate off to nick some farm equipment, only to let 2 horses get out and wander through the village close to a very busy road. Thank God they were OK.
If someone wants to nick something that's one thing - but why endanger innocent horses in the process?

OMG how totally bloody irresponsible and selfish some people are. I'm so glad that things turned out well in the end. I bet you can do with a stiff drink now xx

Thats really bad!!! I know of a lady who actually turned this mans horses out onto the road just because she wouldnt fix her fence so his horses kept going into her fields. Luckly someone caught the horses and returned them to owner. Just cant believe what some people are like!

Pleased that your horses are o.k.

Revue your yard security arrangements and ensure that you have several closed gates in place to avoid horses getting out on the rode. Ensure the gate hinges are reversed on each of them so that you can padlock them shut and they can't be lifted off their hinges. Also ask the police to keep an eye out on your yard.

OMG so pleased horses and people uninjured

We had a spate of this. Mine were let out. The idiots lifted the gate off its hinges (it was padlocked only on one side) Fortunately it was the two most sensible and they got themselves off the road. Eventually. 2 weeks later the gate was lifted again but i had padlocked both sides so the idiots couldn't open it. Other animals were also let out in the area.

Glad yours are ok.

yonks ago my sisters pony and my shetland were killed on the M1, dad presumed someone took the gate off let on to road near M1 junction, till severL years ae police still showed picture of my sisters welsh dead in a VE beetle, boy didn't it upset her.
