Nearly time to get on!!

I had my instructor out to do a lunging session with my 3yo yesterday. As usual he was a total star!!

It was his 1st time with a saddle on the lunge and even flapping stirrups didn't upset him in the slightest. Hopefully I'll be getting on him in a few weeks. I must add I'm not in a hurry, we take everything one step at a time. I think I'm just lucky to have such a laid back and accepting horse!

Here he is at the end of the session - not too put out by this work malarky...

Thanks, I was positively leaping around the yard afterwards telling anyone who would listen about it!! I am ridiculously excited. I've only had him 15 months, I can't imagine what it must be like when you've bred one yourself.

i didn't breed mine

i got him as a very wild unhandled beast in jan!

but yes i do agree it must be so cool when you've seen them grow up (like having klids?!!)

WOW...i feel your buzz

,had my lad since he was 8mnth old...so like i had bred him myself

,broke him etc myself(he is 14 now),and trust me,everytime i get on him i feel proud

...he has never bucked/reared/tanked off with me

,i love my boy,and am thankful i had him from such an early age...he loves his mum

(and i mean that,if i go away for a length of time he screams and runs across the field when i come back

,love my boy

..we go away on sunday for 2wks(he will be looked after awesomely,by YO)...but i dont wanna leave him

Thanks hadfos, it's nice to know the feeling lasts! I choose this one carefully as I want him to last me for the next 20 years. Hopefully I'll have some pictures of me on him next month!
