Last lesson with Kira ended with the suggestion that she'd now benefit from trying the double bridle... so it's shopping time :D Handy when occasions like that coincide with the time of the year that various people ask what you'd like for Xmas and my birthday is only a week later ;)

So she's tried Millie's double on, took to it well and gave a super feeling. Therefore they can share bits. But Millie's bridle swamps her so I want something a bit neater. She's typically full size around the ears and cob size elsewhere.

Millie's is a cheapo Hypostore Premiera http://hypostore.com/premiera-prades-black-double-bridle-with-crystal-browband.html The noseband is too chunky under the cheeks. Happy to have one that fastens at the poll, or on the cheeks if it's neat. Not bothered about bling as she is well endowed of forelock so it'll get trashed, but I quite like patent. I really hate the ones where the slipheads thread through the crownpiece.

What's out there, HHO shoppers? also contemplating the fairfax, apparently there's a fine one now though not seen it. Budget could stretch to that if I get enough contributions from loved ones, lol!

This is Kira's little face

hahahahaha at the price of the Passier!!

Yeah....
Was thinking about WEB, I just find it a bit clunky to look at the various ones as they don't have a proper online shop

I like the BR bridles. Have a look at Morgan Equine or Equiture, plus I think you can build your own bridle so can have the size you need where you need it. Not too expensive either.

One of my friends swears by Don Harry bridles (you can find them on FB). Not seen there double bridle but their snaffle bridles are very neat and would probably look lovely on Kita.

I bought a regular bridle from English bridles recently but had some customised changes made, I'm sure they could do the same on a double bridle. The quality of the leather is just gorgeous.

Morgan Equine all the way. Their cob size double fits my 13h Welsh Section C and my 14h Connemara with the slight adaptation of pony sized cheek pieces, which I obtained by phoning to ask; the leather is butter-soft, lovely neat buckles, and the prices are great. They also do a rolled version, and if they don't have that in the right size on their website if you phone up Suzie will do her best to get what you need. I've even now made myself a version of the brown double for M&M showing by getting my own wide, flat noseband made to attach to the Morgan Equine noseband hangers.
