NEC ..Spanish riding school

Also went last night, had a fab time was great to see Carl, Charlotte and lee. Where we sat we could see them warming up behind the curtain too which was good. The Spanish horses were beautiful and those riders are amazing my heart jumped in my mouth when the one guy lost his seat! Was very frustrating to see people using flash photography and the distracting sitting next to someone who was trying up film it all on his mobile phone even when the steward told him to pack it on!!! Worth every penny I thought, shame to see so many empty seats

Went Saturday evening it was wonderful and Lee was putting all us able bodied people to shame and Carls horse just floated. The Spanish horses were great and a pleasure to watch. But getting home was a nightmare with all the roadworks and such a volume of traffic.

^ Where are the roadworks? I've just posted a thread but probably should have checked here first - I've never been to the NIA before, how mad is the traffic? Do we need to allow extra time for weekend christmas shoppers?

On way back to M6 Aston way or similar name took extra hour to get out of car park and to motorway, also paying for carpark either take pound coins or credit card. Getting there ok and perhaps only night time road works, allow enough time. As show great.

I went Friday evening and came in from the A38M then onto the ring road. There were no roadworks then so I can only guess that it's the weekend crews doing some work. We went early so we could get something to eat before the show. The area around it is really nice with lots of bars and coffee shops. I'd not been to that part of Bham before either and was very pleasantly surprised. I'd expect most of the early shoppers will have made an earlier start so if the show staters at 3pm you ought to be ok. :)

Our dogs and horses got a 2.15 am check/walk, usually a 10.30pm job, but we always do horses/dogs before we go to bed.

Me and my daughter went last night and had a great time, apart from the know it alls behind us who clearly knew how to ride the movements better than our olympic gold medalists and the SRS riders!

Did sneak a photo or two on my daughters mobile but no chance of spooking the horses as we didn't use flash.
