Neck Covers

I clipped my girl at weekend. As it was very cold here overnight, I put a heavier stable rug on her and added a neck cover as I thought she'd be feeling a bit chilly.

This morning she wasn't too hot - felt about right really BUT, she didn't seem happy with the neck cover - kept rubbing her neck, like it was irritating her.

Tonight it's going to be chilly again but, I think I will leave the neck cover off.

So, does everyone else use neck covers in the stable? Are they necessary? This is the first time I've ever used one!

Neck covers are only a recent-ish thing. They coped before, they can cope now

Mine had a clipped neck and done without every day, unless it was raining then she one on, purely because it kept her clean.
