Hi all! My horse has recently started throwing his neck forward in quite a violent way as he comes over jumps. He isn't showing any signs of pain in any other way. His teeth were only done last week and his back not that long ago. Only other thing I can think of is his saddle is not right. It does seem to be moving quite a lot and I hope to get saddle looked at next week ? Any other thoughts???

Did you ever get his bitting sorted out, and are you absolutely certain you are giving him enough with your hands over the jumps?

His bitting is grand and he seemed happy in what we have him in. He doesn't like a snaffle so he is in a myler which he seemed very happy in. Nothing is different in the riding dept this is such a sudden thing!

Glad one of the bitting suggestions worked. The reason why I asked whether you were definitely giving enough, is that if he's been used to being held too much he may only recently have twigged that this gets him more rein.
