Mine's just had a hunter clip and I'm now taking more notice of the huge gape at the top of the neck covers of the turnout rugs when he puts his head down to graze. I'm using Rambo, Rhino and Amigo neck covers and wondered if there was a better T/O rug for keeping the whole neck covered and warm. At this rate the cat-hairs will be breaking through by next week :(

I too hate how neck covers do that!! To the pint I just have a couple of full necks and a couple of standard necks.

The other that I have tried are the zip neck ones, they are quite good but you do need to watch the zip and velcro don't get too muddy or they get stuck.

SHOCKED!!!! A neck cover... what the hell for!!! Your horse may well be too hot with his neck in a rucksack shaped sleeping bag ensemble!!!

seriously the only thing I could find to close the gap was a snuggy hood!! - My horse is grey and I hate dirt!

Pe are fab always used Rambo before and had muddy / wet necks I'm going to sell all my Rambos on eBay as are rubbish compared to pe ( in my opinion)

Sorry to hijack but I've just bought a PE neckcover online. It's just arrived in the post but I think it's going to be too short for my 16.2 WBxTB even though it's the size PE suggested I buy. My mare wears a 6'6 rug but is long in the neck. I'm not sure whether to try it or just send it back and switch for a large size one. Anyone know HOW much longer the L is over the M size?

I use a Snuggy Hood Head on my mare, as the full neck version ate her mane last winter. It's not rubbing, but I also get the gap problem whilst my mare grazes, even with the Snuggy on. About 1ft of neck is exposed when her head's down. Must get pretty drafty with a full clip and a nasty North wind blowing sleet inside your rug!!! LOL.

If you email them they will comeback to you pretty quickly, alway have in the past regardless of how silly my q's about measurements were.

I'm sure I've seen posts on here where the snuggy has slipped and rubbed and done permanent eye damage?

I've given up on neckcovers, should've given up my grey instead!!! I'm not sure what colour you would describe her now. :o: :D

My horse wears a Mark Todd Heavyweight Combo, it has an "extension" at the wither so when he puts his head down the hood still touches his ears!
