In anticipation for my pleasure ride on the 14th, I decided to ride over to the start (as I will have to the day before the ride).

He was amazing! He didn't put a foot wrong the whole time :D

Here's a list of things we saw on our 12 mile (each way) journey!

Bridge over the M1, underpasses, loose dogs running at us, bridges over the canal, canoe, barges, a theme park, a roller coaster, several odd statues, hundreds of people, swans, geese, push chairs, scooters, bikes, lorries, Milton Keynes, Peace Pagoda, wheel chairs, Newport Pagnell and much much more!

The only thing he took offence at was the lion statues outside the Pagoda, but even that wasn't bad.

I'm so proud of him :) he trotted nearly the entire thing and barely broke a sweat!!

Are you riding to and from your pleasure ride (24 miles) plus doing the ride?! :eek:

Haha! That bolded word is certainly true!!

And we'll be riding there the day before, staying with a friend over night to give him a rest, then doing the ride :)
 
You're so lucky to be able to ride along all those paths etc around MK. Are they bridleways? Or footpaths and cyclepaths?

Hope you enjoy the pleasure ride.
 
Fantastic, sure you'll have a great ride. Remember to post photos please! Big day for me too on the 14th, going to watch the first foal we bred for eventing (now 6 yrs old) do her first affiliated ode at Bicton. So proud of the girl & the wonderful owners, excited about oing to see her in action doing what she was bred for. Keep your fingers crossed for us as well...:D

Aw well done you guys - ned looks so relaxed. My aim is to get my boy hacking like that on his own with me looking as chilled as you do. Good luck on the 14th! x

Pleasure rides which are offered as part of the schedule at affiliated rides can be found in the schedules section of the egb website. We had a great day, horse went so well, can't believe she scored 28.3% in the dressage!
