I know it must be mundane to most of you, but it's the first time I've ever seen a dentist at work!
I've been meaning to book him in for a couple of weeks now, as I noticed a chip in his tooth, but YM was having the vet out for a mass check, so I figured I'd book in too to save us a bit of money.
He actually did quite well, but just as vet was going to open his mouth with the gag, a car alarm went off! Not something that usually bothers him, but for some reason, car alarm and dentist is very very scary!
So, he had the first lot of sedative (only a small amount) nope, still was on his toes! So topped him up...still not enough! Finally, he was dopey enough to let the vet work.
I have also never seen a dopey horse in person, hahaha!! I couldn't help but laugh at his silly droopy lip.
The verdict - chipped tooth is ok, but keep an eye on it in case the gum starts to swell. Teeth over all are good, she just had to rasp a couple of small pointy bits

To those of you who read my thread about Spike, Vet said he's not that bad, but she's given him some pain killers and will come and check him again soon! Here's hoping for good news!
