I am currently looking to change bedding for my horse and pony and looking to either deep litter or semi-deep litter them.
My horse can be a little wet on occassions and sometimes tends to eat the straw he is currently on.
I have short listed it to either Nedz Bed Pro or Easibed, but quite undecided which one to go for and hoping you could all help me to decide.

Which do you prefer and what pro's and cons for these beds?

Please help xx

I'm deep litter on easibed and love it. Haven't tried the other though. Easibed goes down very heavy and doesn't move much so you get a wet layer underneath that stays put and you can keep it clean on top. Cons? I suppose you would need a lot if you wanted huge banks, and it's not as soft as straw or shavings, but if I had to put my sleeping bag down on one of my horses beds it'd be this one any day. (They were shavings previous and paper before that).

We use Nedsbed which is chopped rape straw and find it nice and fluffy and soft. The wee goes to the bottom and the top stays clean. It is nearly as quick to muck out as shavings and very absorbent so not much waste. Better for the environment as it is a bi-product and trees don't need to be chopped down. However, at £8.25 a bale it isn't cheap, I use a bale a week for a nice fluffy banked bed. I was looking at Easibed thinking about changing to that as it's cheaper, but it looked too heavy and not fluffy to me, and I worry about it being sharp or splintery? As it is wood chippings?

I have tried both and personally I prefer Rapport or Bedwell, both similar they are made of chopped straw and seem to absorb the wet stuff very well.

Thank you everyone for the information you have given me.
I have decided to give Nedz Beds a go and started them on it today.

My Arab stepped on it and kept snorting at it with his nose to the bed lol
I will keep you posted and let you know how it goes.
Thanks again

End of day 1:
Well this morning it took me 10-15 mins to muck out the stable on the nedz bed instead of the 50 mins it usually takes to sift through the extremely mixed up dirty and wet bed I usually arrive to in the morning of my very dirty Arab gelding.

What I also like is that when I had finished, there was next to no waste of bedding, I only put just under half a wheel barrow onto the muck heap (as opposed to the 2-3 large ones on straw bedding) and for the first time ever I didn't go home smelling of pee :) bonus!
This evening the bed was still not trashed and only took 5-10 mins to skip out.

I have also found that today my boy seamed more relaxed and found him laying down when I arrived to the yard in the morning.
So far it's a thumbs up from me and definately a thumbs up from my Boy. Will change my pony onto it over next few days I think
