Hi all

I have a little 9hh shetland for my daughter to ride. Daughter isn't even 3 yet & riding is sporadic, so, in the meantime I thought I'd quite like to get a little cart for the little mare so she can have a job to do.
I don't necessarily want her to drive us all round but I thought hitching her up to a little cart to poo pick etc might give her a bit of exercise and save us some back ache barrowing it around!
So, does such a cart exist? And, where can I get one from?

Thanks

they do exist, i had two over a period of time for my 36" overgrown mini, it depends on what you want to do though, the first one was a little flat bed type cart (home made by someone but very well done, it had sides that dropped down so i used it to collect muck from the field, it did get heavy but i just had to make sure it didnt get too full. the second cart was a little exercise type cart, it was purpose built and he loved going out around the local lanes, and people were fab when they saw him :) sadly i lost him at 12 years old to cushings and laminitus, hence having sold all his stuff. if you look on carriage driving websites they are the best places to find small carts, also ask around at local driving groups, at least that way you will get a safe vehicle and not something that could be dangerous. best of luck, they are fabulous phonies and love to work :)

Try Carriage Driving Magazine. For the show Allo Allo a special cart was constructed for two shetland ponies.
