Have been really lazy and Monty has had 3 days off and by the looks of the weather its gonna be 4 days off

Anybody else feeling like this at the mo?
 
Yep - im constantly on the look out for excuses not to ride e.g.

poopicking
cleaning tack
weather
etc etc
 
I have been - although having been off work for two weeks I've ridden almost every day.

And having just made loads of arrangemetns on outings etc. with the lad - no time for slacking now. He's gotta get fit, fit, fit!
 
I get times like that too!

Best thing for it is to set yourself a goal that you can't really get out of (eg a competition or lesson) so that you have something you have to work for. By the time you have got back into it, you will have something to look forward to!

I am having that and fortunatly the evening job played straight into my hands ie more shifts..... however now I am thinking that I would prefer to be riding ( or not) rather than working.... Just cant win
 
I get like that once or twice a year and he gets completely unfit bless him! Just got over last very lazy few weeks and i am now cracking on with some good intense training.

I was really enjoying riding my boy twice a day, especially as we lost our mare nearly 5 weeks ago. Then he went lame and now I can't ride him, even though we take him to cornwall for nearly 3 weeks tomorrow

Dont feel guilty, I gave my boy a full 6 days off last week as a little holiday/reward from his busy weekend (not because I needed a kick up the bum or dodge the thunder storms *cough.. cough*

) and to be honest, he's been better for it, seemed rather enthusitic and happy when I hacked him out and better with his schooling in the menage too...double whammy!....so a little break here and there does them good I think.
