Need a new Bridle, Grackle comfort - recommendations please !

OH has just told me I can have a new bridle for my Bday in 3 weeks. Currently using lovely grackle - Mark Todd in Full - but... is a little large in that it is almost on top hole (ie. to make it as small as possible) all round (also a little worse for wear!).

Just looked at Sabre Codobra and the sizes for full are a little smaller than mine so would probably be ok... any other suggestions (havana or oak etc not black). Also any idea where does a good selection around Bristol/Weston super Mare that I could go and have a look.

Have a look at Collegiate, they are in tack shops and online from rideaway, robinsons derbyhouse ect, very reasonable, nice quality and plenty of choises for nosebands ect.
 
Thanks guys - ooohh the equipe look really nice !!!! although think I would want to see one in the flesh first for that money. Collegiate looks nice too
 
i have the equipe grackle bridle with the clenchered browband and can vouch that it is superior quality. really flexible fit too as both the noseband and cheekpieces adjust on both sides, as does the throatlash. I had a collegate one but it looked quite tired after a few months. Maybe I didnt clean it enough.lol!
 
Jaguar, Jaguar, Jaguar, lol. I got a lovely Jaguar bridle for Christmas. The leather is lovey the best part is it's padded everywhere including the grackle! You can get it in Black, Havana or Autumn Gold.

(I realise this is the second time I've banged on about Jaguar bridles, I promise I don't work for them. But if Jaguar are reading this and want to send me some free stuff, I'd be more then happy to help lol)

Very nice. Now to persuade myself we don't really really need one :D
 
really like the look of the jaguar one !!! does the full come up large or small. He is in full for bridles/headcollars but in mark todd bridle (which does come up v large) is almost on top hole !

Also - is the autumn gold a nice colour ? looks lovely
 
Mine is in autumn gold and is a very nice bright brown - matches my bates saddle perfectly as a guide! I would say the sizes are fairly true

have a hunt on ebay for one cheaper though! I was VERY lucky with mine and got it for £35 brand new but I think there are some knocking about on there now for about the £60 mark
 
blimey u did well - seen one for £80 no postage (grackle) but maybe should search bit more! think its the one will go for, love the equippe but v expensive and not comfort same with sabre codobra
 
I have an Amerigo (grackle) and its lovely soft leather,slightly raised brow&nose bands,very good leather cheek ring guards(prevents rubbing) & an equally effective leather nose pad(no rubbing and no manky sheepskin!). Comfort headpiece & a nice,refined looking bridle(might be a bit lost on a v.big head? That's just my opinion tho) Comes with nice,flexible rubber reins& straps adjustable on near&offside. X
 
Ps before the Amerigo,I tried a Frank Baines & a Jefferies-neither was as nice and neither fitted as well. My boy has a fairly fine head for his size and tho he's a full in hcollars,he could have taken a cob size in the Amerigo I think. He has a full size and it's fine,cos there's plenty of adjustment room.

Not sure about the full, I've got the over full (a.k.a warmblood, extra full etc) and id say the size matches other warmblood/extra full bits and pieces I have.
 
I have the full (Jaguar) for a 16.2 TBx and although the rest is fine, the noseband is ridiculous! I got in touch with thermatex and they have just sold me a cob sized one to go on it, which is good!
