Are you wanting an “unofficial “ show name for unaffiliated shows where you don’t have to use the name on his passport?
I think we need a bit more detail about his personality to inspire some good names

He is a lovely boy!
Does he need a special show name? I can see why some people create a pet name from a long and unpronounceable registered name (I am in that position myself having just bought a pony with a registered Welsh name!), but wonder why you need to create a show name. More fun to enter him as Scooby, people expect to see a pony, and find themselves looking at your beautiful horse :)

what discipline is he for?
I have a 17 hand bay thoroughbred, his stable name is scooby

yes for those asking i don’t know his history and it wasn’t available when i bought him. he was a rescue ottb and no other info available. He is 6 and very sweet and has a puppy dog personality… but he can certainly have some fun and be a bit spicy and wild lol. he doesn’t have a passport or official registration but i’m trying to get a more formal name to register him under me and use that as his show name as well at shows. He is an equitation/ hunter rn and possibly might do jumpers in the future too.

If he's an ottb he must have a passport registered with Weatherbys or he wouldn't have been allowed to race. Can you not trace him through his microchiip?

I had a broodmare who had a Weatherbys passport but was unnamed. (She'd never raced obviously) when I bought her I looked into giving her a registered name but it was fairly pricey so I decided against it in the end.

If yours has raced he will have name, my ex-racers have all had lovely passport names.

we have a rescue my friend called him warrior, because he fought so hard to live.

we were sat here thinking of names for your boy, and came up with, `Out Of Darkness`, as he`s been rescued.

hope that helps, wishing you all the best with him x

OP Get a a vet to scan for a microchip, get the number and if he has a lip tattoo then note that down to ask ask The Jockey Club if they can trace your horse for you. If he was ever bred to race or was registered with them they will be able to tell you who he is and issue you a new passport. They will also be able to get in contact with his last known Owner or Trainer if you want them to on your behalf.
