Hi all, got my new horsey on tuesday!!! Turned him out wednesday, and as you can imagine, went a bit barmy galloping around the field, and sliding (as it had been raining as usual!)
Wednesday evening, he was fine, lunged him for 15mins to get him used to the school, and went almost perfectly.
Thursday evening, went to pick his leg up, and he kind of cow kicked in slow motion, so i took him to be lunged again, and he kept like stomping that leg down in trot (like they sometimes act when flies are about) So i took him back upto the yard, and noticed a bit of heat, and swelling around his fetlock, so i cold hosed it.
Today, i got there, and from his hock to his fetlock has all swollen up, and quite a bit of heat in it, and also his front leg (diagonal to the swelled hind leg) also has some swelling at the back of his leg.

He isnt lame, short or stiff on it at all

Do you think its because he's done too much running in the field? Or something serious??

Thanks

He's almost certainly done something daft from hoolying round the field at 90mph. The thing is, you won't know if it's serious or not for a few days, by which time you might be in trouble if it IS serious. It's obviously causing him some pain. I'd get the vet out just in case.
