I have a beautiful, talented, bomb-proof dressage horse. I got him from Holland, I thought I was buying a horse for the future (I am a grand-prix rider) I had him X-rayed and vetted, nothing came up. After a few months i experienced training difficulties. He became unwilling in some movements, I had the vet out, he had sacroiliac pain and had his neck x-rayed (only thing i did not have x-rayed in holland) he had degeneration in his neck. My vet said it would not be a problem and he was injected with anti-inflamitories into his neck, we took the long road with his sacroiliac and gave him time off and physiotherapy. I then slowly brought him back into work. he is going so well however i want to sell him, he is not going to get where i want him to go, and i am equally not willing to pump him full of steroids and make him passage when it will be physically very challenging to him. I think it is only fair on him to sell him. He is advanced medium at the moment and would find PSG easy. His scores are high and he could easily win regionals. He is well behaved and any ones ride. The home, to me, is more important but i equally do not want to give him away. I have lost so much money on this horse because he was not cheap at all. In my eyes, it is not an option to have him put down, he is sound and happy. Most professionals would sell him on not telling the future owners his problems, and making a lot of money, i would never do that, i have my rep and i love the horse. What do people suggest i do? thanks for your help
