I have a welsh section a just under 12hh, 6 years gelding and a very capable 5 year old daughter. He is a smashing pony and hasn't failed to amaze us all summer doing working hunter, showing ,xc, pc etc. The only problem is he is lazy....if she wants to jump a course of jumps she is kicking into every one of them....don't like her using too much whip either . He is forward going for a short while once riding starts but quickly loses it. He is ridden 5/6 days per week, turned out all day, stabled at night. At the minute is on baileys keep calm. We just need another gear without him getting cheeky...advise needed please

This is going to sound counter-intuitive but I would take him off the hard feed. I don't know the ingredients of the one you use but I do know that magnesium, which can be used as a calmer, made my horse worryingly lethargic.
A fit 6 yr old Section A pony, who is only carrying a 5 yr old child, should not need hard feed.

This and focus on the positives you have a safe pony that is looking after your child, by next season he will probably find the next gear, he and she will be a year older, fitter and stronger, a bit of kicking will do no harm for now and is far better than a sharp pony that is too much for her.
