He was backed at 3 during the backing process it it came obvious he was sore took to equine vet, who x rayed him and found he basically had a hole in the hock bone that he thinks was caused by a kick, was given tildren through iv, was given 2 months in field, the re x rayed. the vet was really pleased said bone had completely healed pony was sound. i decided then to give him off until end

So basically he is lame again off and on not dog lame but i notice it he would go a few strides sound then a few lame so we are back to vet on Thursday , am really rackin my brains to what is wrong with him
need some hho vibes :-(
Sorry post is long and i have used 3 posts!!

are you sure hes not simply foot sore? some of mine (shod and unshod) have gone foot sore on and off this year, because they have got sooo used to the soft wet going over last summer and through the winter.

Rachel no i don't think he is foot sore, he seems to put the foot down ok its his back left hind, it looks like when he stretches the leg out behind him then brings it forward in trot its the bringing it forward that seems to be sore, if that makes sense

UPDATE**
With vet this morning flexion test done was showing lameness which last time he had one showed nothing which was a month ago. Hock x rayed showed he had a bone chip vet thinks it is to do with last injury of Hock wasn't picked up on the x rays as it hadn't broke off. the vet showed me the xrays in one xray it wasn't noticeable 2nd one it was very slight so he did another one at a different angle and it showed up well. vet very positive because of treatment he had before the chip broke off but all surfaces appear smooth , so he is confident that no surgery is needed and he is to have 4 months of on field rest with out walking inhand , i am to reassess in 2 months to make sure we are progressing the right way
so in a way i am relieved lol
