Need help finding a horse to buy - any one want to horse shop with me ??

Hello, My friends mum is looking for a horse and has been for over a year, She has very solid ideas about what she wants which is the problem..

to make 15.2hh - 16.3hh
Mare or Gelding
1 - 4 yrs old
Very cobby.. heavy

now the hard bit,....

It has to be chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail, not bothered about the how dark/light the chestnut is...

Are you sure she won't go a bit smaller and get a nice Welsh D type? They're cobby and often the right colour... like this guy:

Umm... good luck! There's the french heavy breeds too, like the Breton that might fit the bill and often have flaxen mane & tails, but where you'd find one...

Thanks FionaMc, The Welsh is a bit small and not heavy enough, she wants it to do ploughing and harrowing etc as part of her local heavy horse group.

I was thinking Breton but don't want one that has been 'rescued' from slaughter for meat, I think one would be perfect. Found one but it had been sold.

What about a Suffolk Punch type? They are usually chestnut with flaxen aren't they? Not sure where you would get one though sorry!

A-ha! It suddenly all makes sense! If my budget allowed I'd probably be doing the research and heading to France. There's the Suffolk Punch too of course, might be worth exploring?
