Need help on how much to sell for...

Ok...so the time has come for us to think about maybe getting something bigger...my daughter has grown sooo much in the past year and is now taller than me!!

I've dreaded the thought of selling our lovely Belle and have been putting it off for 6 months +.
Now in my mind she is worth a million...but hey dont we all think that about our horses/ponies, so I could do with some honest opinions about what to ask for her.

14.2 chestnut mare born 1993...suspected TBX SEC D
Marvellous temperament...forward going but safe.
Represented pc in show jumping and eventing and done all pc activities inc camp.
Qualified for denjie championships and will jump 4 ft course on a good day. Loves xc sooo much.
Always sound with us..just a touch of mud fever.
If I had a horsey place and funds I would have a foal from her.
 
I think that I do have a tendancy to over estimate.

However, I think your little horse sounds just wonderful, and would suite a junior or a small adult.

Carefully advertised, and in the right place I think you could get a lot for her - around the £5k mark. Others may think this is too high. But she sounds like a wonderfull allrounder, who would give anyone hours of pleasure, and oodles of confidence.

TBH home is far more important than price but whatever we get for her is the funds for new horsey!!!

Huge market for something as genuine as she sounds to be......

And 14 is no age.
 
For something like that about £4-5k! Good safe ponies are like gold dust!

Have you mentioned it to her pony club that you are thinking of selling? They often know people who are looking - and they would want to keep Belle in their branch of the pony club!!
 
Haymarket....yes I would probably advertise her on pc site. Just had no idea what to ask for, and in my experience (or lack of it) people will see that and take the mick..lol
 
There is a HUGE market for a pony like her (sounds fantastic BTW) believe me I know, we looked for something like her 4 years ago and couldn't find anything under £4k. I would price her at LEAST £5k.
 
(Heaven forbid) should I have kids one day and if I have the funds I wouldn't hesitate in shelling out a good few k on a good schoolmaster/mistress. I'm pretty sure the majority of people would feel the same

Having a daughter who grows like a weed, have been in this position a coupleof times unfortunately as I get soooo attached to them

(ponies that is not children). £4-4.5 k sounds ball park - you don't mention quality of flatwork - if it's as good as the jumping then you could easily add another £1,000.
Schoolmistresses are like gold dust. I've been lucky to see our ponies remain in our PC and see them continue with others.

She has a nice outline and works well in the school. Dressage judges mention a little resistance...but thats probably my daughters fault...doesnt like flatwork lol.

Just found her last two dressage sheets...48.5 and 51
