need help on my 11day old kitten

Iv been hand rearin an 11 day old kitten since he was 1 hr old as his mother is struggeling and cannot cope.

Since last night he doesnt seem to want to drink as much as he needs and seems to just want to sleep. He used to suck the syringe but not he just seems to hold it in his mouth and do nothing!!!

Is this normal????
 
iv just spoken to a work friend who is a vet nurse and she said it isnt a good sign, and is he breathing nosily, but he isnt, and actually purs when you stroke him. Iv just tried to feed him again and he started to suck!!!!
I think he has either had a bad night or is lazy!!!!!!!!!

I will be keeping my eye on him though!
 
Don't want to teach you to suck eggs but are you relieving his bladder after feeding him? I used to breed & show Persian cats so have hand reared kittens myself, also my OH is a Vet so I can help you if you need advice.

Sadly he had to be put to sleep last night. He wasnt feeding properly for 2 days, and went really floppy and weak and not crying like he used to when he needed feeding. I held him in my hand and he just looking at me so sad! and he was mouth breathing. he was dying in my hands but i couldnt leave him to suffer like that so i took him to my vets at 12pm and the vet who lives upstairs put him to sleep. She was nearly crying to. I was sobbing on the way home!

So sorry to hear this sad news. You did your best and you did the best when he needed you most.
