need help - windscreen wipers have stopped working

anyone know anything about the windscreen arms on a DAF LF45?

we're on the hard shoulder on the m6 trying to stop the pressure joint from popping off.

unfortunately the police officer that stopped didn't have a clue.

That could be what happened with my landy. A chap I know recommended creative use of a sturdy elastic band, though I didn't follow how. I ended up driving round with one wiper missing until my MOT I'll let someone more useful answer...

just spoken to my OH and he said that the ball bearing on the joint has gone.
hopefully we'll get home tonight

what do you expect, living on the better side of the border...

(subconscious at work, with the Glasgow connection, typed "batter"... Something they just don't know how to do properly down here is batter things )

thankfully we're about 80 miles from glasgow so we should be ok to get back to the yard.

we were still in England when it happened.
my poor dad - as if having to drive 200 miles without a break wasn't bad enough

If it's just the linkage in one that has gone, you can do a get-home bodge with cable ties - see here. There's also a good repair tip. This happens a lot to us MGF drivers - we are master of the bodge!!

Thats because anything with an MG Badge is truly awful.

So sorry, hope you are safely back home. I'll never forget the time when I returned to my car during a torrential rain storm only to find some @@@@@ had stolen both windscreen wipers!
