So I ride with a regular group of fellow riders one evening a wk & our instructor wants to have a " Fun " group lesson before christmas & we need ideas.. Its in the evening time otherwise a nice forest trek would be the ideal solution!
Cant think of anything - any ideas?

I went to an adult pony party where we played gymkana games and horseball exercises. I haven't laughed so much in ages and we were totally disgraceful. Horses enjoyed it too.

Any and all gymkhana games :D Our RC do these and we have three age sections, Junior members, Adult Members under 40 and Adult members over 40 :D The most competitive are the third group  (although the games for the third group don't tend to include getting on and off too much!) Potato races, bun eating races, sack race (this is particularly knackering!) dressing up race, bending races, walking races, the list is almost endless!
You could also get someone to organise a handy pony course.

I used to love Christmas gymkhana type lessons when I went to a riding school too! Our lesson aged ranged from about 15 to mid 30s but we all loved it!

I used to teach at a riding school and every now and then all us instructers would play adult gymkhana on the most unsuitable horses ever....was such a ball! Musical horses is great fun where you ride around the area at any speed and when the music stops you have to race to the nearest cone/upturned water bucket and sit down.

One tip...make sue you get your feetout your strrups first or you get a lot of peolpe laughing very loudly at you XD great memories!

If you want a really good laugh - gymkhana definitely. We have great fun doing these.

You could also have a trec type lesson which would be fun but less hilarious than gymkhana.

Despooking lesson could be good and you don't need special stuff, just use whatever you have at home or lying about the yard.

Clear round jumping mini competition.
