Need legal advice

Hi all, unfortunately I’m in a situation where I need some Equine Legal Advice regarding a horse purchase.
Has anyone any recommendations? I’m not a BHS member and have used my ‘complimentary’ 30 minutes BD consultation time.
At this stage I’m wanting to know if I have a viable case as well as costs. I’ve already spent a large amount on this horse plus associated costs and have also sustained an injury meaning I’m unable to drive/ work/ care for my other horse. Not to mention the stress and upset of this whole situation.
Not a post I want to be writing at all but would appreciate experiences.
I will not be sharing details on this forum as I don’t know how far this will go.

I can recommend Jackie Fulton. She helped a friend of a friend with a horse she bought that had a very obvious pre-existing condition although sadly she didn't get her money back in that situation and the horse ended up at the blood bank. But she specialises in equine law.

She was very good to me when I consulted her about Lari as to was the BHS but in my situation it was a private sale and virtually nothing to be done.

I wish you all the best. Apart from being the scum of the earth, the people that operate selling horses that are clearly not fit for purpose are not only heartless to those that they rip off, but also show a callous disregard for the animals they sell.

I'm not sure- I know the insurance wouldn't, but it doesn't say anything about the legal advice needing to be for things that happen post-membership that I can see.

I wouldn't bother. You only get a very small amount of time to discuss - probably less than you had with BD and that's it. Also, a lot of solicitors will give a short consult free, then you could potentially stick with them and not have to go over everything twice, depending on how things go.
