I'm starting my equestrian course in September and am in serious need of a pair of new tall boots as the zips have gone in my older ones due to heavy riding, and the fact they were on the cheap side. So, I'm in the market for a new pair.

I'll be doing yard duties in them as well as riding (flat work, jumping, dressage, xc, hacks, and the rest!), so durability is a must. I also have quite short calves so if they vary in heights that is great. I just hate it when they dig into the back of my knee, and have bought heel raisers in the past. However, I'd like to not have to buy anything like that. I'm looking specifically for a plain black pair (uniform constraints) so no jazzy sparkles or anything. Saying that, I would like them to shine up well for local competitions.

I'm currently looking at;
Brogini Arezzo Wave Top Laced Boot
De Niro Salento laced riding boots
HKM Spain Field Boot
Ariat Bromont H20 Insulated/Non-insulated

Though I'm open to suggestions any opinions on those boots listed would be awesome!

If you have short calves the Ariat Bromont will be too long. Look at the Ariat Heritage Contour as they come in a variety of heights and widths. I wouldn't want to do yard duties in a decent pair of long boots though so can you compromise and get long boots and country/yard boots?

I would happily get a pair of good country boots too! Especially for the winter! ^^ Any good brands or specific boots I should look at?
