I don't think it's *that* expensive.....if it is what it says on the tin, people will pay for what they are willing to pay for (read unregistered Maltese for £1200 in the small ads, ARGH!)
£600 for a dog I love YD to bits but I'm glad he was only £250 - thats with a cracking pedigree, health checked etc plus so far no health issues. I think my uncle asks £400 for his labs and thats with full health check and DNA done.
Again, the money really I think is totally reasonable. When you consider that the hip score test costs upwards of 400 (after GA, sending it off etc...), eye tests, stud fees (is that what it's called in dogs?!), all the mummy health stuff whilst she's pregnant, the time off work if she whelps on the wrong day lol!! I think 600 is reasonable.
Plus, my goodness gracious, apart from Chloe obviously (!!) they are all just the most beautiful dogs. Really, really lovely.
Fingers crossed for a lovely bunch of healthy pups please!! We're expecting 8 we think. Xxx
I have no idea of the labrador prices but don't think £600 is unreasonable, well bred and reared pups cost a lot to get to 8 weeks! However have you actually been quoted £400 for hips , I think I paid around £200 for Evie's hips and elbows, including submission fees, I know my vets use sedation rather than GA but £400 still seems very high.
