hi

im taking my TB to his 1st and my 1st dressage comp in october and i was planning on taking his back shoes on end of september (as we now have the wet weather) reason for this is that he doesnt have the best feet there getting a lot better but im hoping taking backs off then fronts and leaving for a good 4-6 months with out them on (having no nails nailed in) may help with his walls!

my questions is should i leave taking them off until after the comp or just do it and see how he goes?

PS i will be hacking to the comp its 1.5 miles away mostly on the roads.

thanks!

if he is anything like my TB (a bit of a wuss) i would leave them on until after your competition, as you may find that he is a little foot sore. Or you could take them off as planned and see how he goes and leave your entry until the very last minute with the possiblity that you can't go.
