pony up yard section a possibly chestnut really flashy lovely looking horse however

its been left in a field for 3 years with little interaction (hay thrown in over fence/occasional lunge) it wind sucks/crib bites and has stress related sweet itch its in a field on its own and some livery's are throwing food for him

i don't know when he was last shod/wormed/vacs and i feel sorry for him as after 3 years with no interaction he obviously has problem mentally

i think he would come right with 1 on 1 care but no one will give him that (I'm preg so not chancing it!)

anyone know anyone who take him or know what we could do with him? forgot to mention his teeth are like mm long

does it have other horses in the field with it? if so, it is probably mentally okay (they go a bit feral with no human contact but they're fine as long as they have company!)
i've never heard of stress-related sweet itch, if it has got SI it definitely needs treatment or a flyrug on.
can you find out who the owner is, it should have feet trimmed regularly, and teeth done once a year if nothing else, poor thing.
 
i know who owner is its tricky situation i cant really go into

hes in field on his own yes

i know how to look after horse, but erm how to put this owner isn't all there and is in a place i cant challenge her really just need to find someone to take it for free
 
So is it the owner who throws hay over and occasionally lunges it? Sorry somewhat bemused....if its on a livery yard then surely someone is paying for it to be there?
 
no other livery's are feeding it its YO boyfriends horse(hes in hospital) she advertised £1200 for it as a kids pony but guys daughters want it gone free kinda a family feud

cant go into to much details on forum just in case
 
kind of but if they did come out they would know its one of liverys as yard set away from road

daughter wants him gone free or i fear he will be PTS
 
Sadly this is a situation that is regularly seen when the owener of some horse become ill old or frail. Their animals start being neglected and people that know them finds it very difficult to intervene.
If the horse is not having it's feet or teeth regularly attended to or if it is not being wormed regularly then it becomes a welfare issue.
