Hello Everyone,

Ok so i am going to take the plunge this year as I am fed up of having cold wet feet all day every day. So I am looking for some leather country type boots that will stand up to the job. The thing is they are all expensive and I have no idea which ones are best?? So i am thinkging Tuffa Roxburge or suffolk/ Ariate Grashmeres, glaciers or constants OR Dubarry.....

So what would you all recommend??

Aha I've just posted same thing. What conclusions have you come too. I like the look of toggi Quebec boots. But also the Dublin river boot. Ooh decisions!

Well i have had dublin river boots in the past and (sorry) sont rate them at all! The lineing fell out after a couple of weeks, dublin replaced 2nd pair were not waterproof and the lineing fell out again 3rd pair were ok but only lasted 9months so i wont go there again. However this was a few years ago now.
its so difficult ....

Everybody seems to have the river boots. I do quite like the look of the toggi Quebec ones. But they look like they have a huge amount of grips on the underside. Would they be ok for riding in? Ooh. Just spied Sherwood Forest ones. Gawd. Decisions

Loved my Dublin river boots. abused them daily for a good 18 months before they died. bought some cheaper ones at Windsor this year and the lining has split already. try lots a
on as the fit is different. I found the toggi really uncomfortable but its personal preference!!! If you can afford dubarry's im told they are great, but out of my price range!

It is so difficult to choose, i want to spend a bit more this time to ensure i get a good pair!! so i am still stuck between tuffa suffolk or new roxbourgh OR ariat coniston. I dont really like pull on boots as they seem to sag and the inside comes away. ????

I have the Toggi Quebec boots and I absolutely love them. I ride in them and have no problem at all with the soles. They are, however, sold as a "country boot" but Toggi make another boot which is identical but with a slightly different sole (I think it is called the Canyon, but not sure) which they market as suitable for riding in. I really can't see why it would make any difference, but I guess there is a reason!

I have just bought the Tuffa Suffolk with riding sole. The black ones are currently reduced on their website. They are to replace my Dubarry's. I really like them.

Dont waste your money on Dublin River boots or Sherwood Furlong Boots totaly useless POOP 3rd replacement pair didnt even remain waterprooof for 5 minutes walking in wet grass, a Friends toggi Quebecs kept coming adrift around the heels, 3 pairs exchanged.

If you can afford it Dubarry Boots every time and look after them, Toggi Hamilton boots are pretty good as well better than Quebecs but less suited to riding.

I have the Canyon style and cant fault them. I not only wear them for the yard but also as an everyday boot. they're very warm, and completely waterproof, well worth the money in my book :-)

I've had toggi canyon, lining had it after a few months and they are not fully waterproof.

I've got Dublin river boots they are better but sagging and faded so look scruffy.

I wouldn't buy either of them again, think I will try tuffa next time they are supposed to be better.
