I'm helping my friend train and then re home her dog. So far things are going well, he's being walked more and is allowed out of his "cage" more and he seems a little happier and a little bit calmer.
On Tuesday I was doing some basic work with him. Such as sit/down/wait/leave and was playing with him, things like fetch which has helped with him understanding "leave" no end! We're also still working on "watch" and he's getting the idea, slowly!
Anyway, I was putting him into the down position and he started jumping towards my face (yeah, he still needs a lot of work) so I turned my back on him and gave him no attention. Next thing I know is that L (the dog) is clamped around my arm. I couldn't get him off either but when I did, I did tell him off. He took himself out of the room and wouldn't come near me for the rest of the night.
I have got bruises but no broken skin and it hurt quite a lot. My friend has a toddler and if L ever got a hold of him, it really would be the end of L.
Tuesday was probably my fault because I didn't read his body language properly but I don't know what I'd do if he ever got hold of a child.
What do I do to stop him biting? It could just be playful but it still hurts!! I've never had to deal with a dog that bites before, even in playing. Just a little shocked thats all.
Heres a picture of the hooligan. I'm not entirely sure what he's doing either...
