We were moving yards in a few weeks, taking friends filly showing and Monty out to dressage until one of the other horses at our yard has come down with similar symptoms to strangles and there has also been a virus going round with similar symptoms aswell. So we are now waiting for results from swabs to come back before we set foot off our yard (which includes hacking) as we would hate to spread anything about. So if you have any finger's and toes spare to cross everyone would really appreciate it especially poorly horse
So I am looking for inspiration for schooling ideas for Monty as lessons are out the window too at present
So please any fun ideas to stop Monty and I going mad?
BTW We don't have any jumps at present yard and I have a tendency to fall on my head so jumping is out

Thanks

I am crossing everything for you at the moment, When we get bored I get someone from the yard to give me lessons and critique my riding in general and then spend the time working those areas

As for different things to do, how about some in hand work or loose schooling.. It's a great way to strengthen/establish a great bond with your horse and before you think "cripes" a Pirelli person, not that I have any problem with Pirelli, I'm not (their stuff's so expensive I'd rather spend the money elsewhere). I just found that it helped me gain a lot more trust with my spooky mare and she found it fun to follow me around, even popping teeny jumps. I also taught her rein back in this manner.

Good luck and fingers crossed that the poorly horse soon recovers.
