Need some non judgment advice regarding purchasing

I read 'being sent' is that her primary vet is sending pony to referral clinic for more work up.
Ah, that could be it. I hope so. Then the OP will feel that things are in her hands, which they are.

It’s the ‘being sent’ that confused me too. A vet will advise what investigations to undertake, but they wouldn’t send the pony off to have them done. That’s would sit with the pony’s carer.
If the pony was in OPs care I would have expected the phrasing to be something like “the vet has advised she goes to a clinic to test for wobblers”
The OPs comment makes it sound like someone else (the person she is purchasing the pony from?) is coordinating the veterinary care.
Yes, that makes sense too. Anyhow I was just thinking while I was in the shower (sorry about that mental picture - quite frightening really) that it's important that the OP doesn't break the contract, or things could go rather poorly.

I think sitting down with a coffee with the pony's 'previous' owner could be a good idea, but it depends on the previous owner. And OP.

Failing the coffee idea, it would be wise to make sure, OP, that you don't go beyond your next payment being due, because if you do, you break the contract. The contract states 500 pounds per month until pony paid in full. When buyers break contracts, the seller can take the 'object' back. (I can't remember legal term for object. 'Consideration'? I think that's the price.

If coffee delivers a good arrangement (for example, having to pay no more for the pony) please make sure that you get this in writing, signed by the seller, because it will make things so much easier if the seller changes her mind. (You could even take a pre-written note and a pen with you to the cafe, though the seller might get antsy. Maybe just something to write on, and something to write with. It literally doesn't matter what a contract is written on, or what with, as long as it is signed by the seller.)

See I always read that the pony wasn’t yours until the final payment, not after the first.
It is a bit of a complication with payment plans.
As long as the contract is stuck to, there is no problem. It's when the buyer doesn't pay when a payment is due that a #$%^&* seller can take back the ________, and be within his rights.
