Well after 4 years of regaining my confidence after hitting rock bottom in every way known to man... I finally plucked up the courage to enter a one day event in September. Went to the field to see my absolute horse of a lifetime this morning to be greeted with a swollen leg! Long story short - suspensory tendon!

His ok in himself and fine in walk - vet has suggested a slow build up in walk - looking to introduce trot come end of September.

Just want to sit in a corner and sob! Feeling very sorry for myself!

It sounds as if the vet thinks the prognosis is good, so try to take heart from that. It is a pity about your plans but that's horses for you!
Vibes for a good recovery, coming your way.

Arghe, poor horse and bad luck. Very slow and very steady is your best plan - which it sounds like you are doing. You could potentially try shockwave or PRP therapy if injury type and funds allow. Good luck to you.
