That the time had come for Oliver to have a bigger pony. He doesn't have anything against the idea as long as it doesn't cost any money & we don't have more than 2 altogether. So just the 2 problems - we all know ponies don't come free (I wish!) and Bobby is 25 so he is going nowhere, which would give us 3.
I suppose I am going to have to use all my womanly tricks again.

Well, unless it would lead to divorce, I'd just go and get one.

I've never understood this having to convince people thing. If you need it - get it - simple!

Well you know how to do it:

Plant the seed, water it ....wait....and he'll come up with the idea and think it's great because it was 'his' idea!

Obviously not

** wanders away scratching head wondering why...........**

But if I did that he might decide he "needs" the Harley Davidson he has been hankering after or to join a pheasant shooting syndicate & then we would be having to make a tin of economy beans last 4 people a whole week! Naturally a new pony is far more important, but how to make him realise that?

Why you're not married or why I asked. lol

Because it's just easier to 'convince' husbands than suffer the consequences thats all....

I planted the seed last November, but it is being very slow to germinate!
I told Bobby that if he plodded round PC party (Dad had to do the ferrying that day) he could go into semi retirement & spend more time eating grass, but the games where such good fun & made him feel young & sprightly & he undid all of my good work!

"Can't you put some 'growfast' in his tea or something?"

LOL - yes a bigger Booby is exactly what we need (although younger would be nice as well)

"Last resort - it's time for the sexy underwear I think!! "

It may be time for such desperate measures soon.

You are sooooo right. Mine goes into a mega huff if we get another 'anything'. Horse head-count currently at 4 - own place, still got 4 empty stables, good income - what's the problem? I am officially over the limit by one atm - only 3 bottoms available, see.

HOWEVER, the extra one is our Polly, age 27, been the world's acest pony and IS GOING NOWHERE.

It's riding out the initial storm and hoping the threat of a 70:30 split (in my favour) prevents him making any silly moves which would reduce my standard of living!

Good luck getting him round to the right way of thinking.

I don't believe men do hinting. They need comands. Example 'Wouldn't it be nice to have some tea?' Will get you no where has to be 'Please could you make tea?' Or 'I think you should make tea.' Yes I am single....

I am looking around 14.2. I have put feelers out looking for a loan pony as Oliver is 14 and no doubt will shoot up suddenly - I hope he does as he's only 5' now and it's a horrible size to buy clothes for.
Trouble is everyone in PC is looking for the same thing at the moment. Did have a hope of a chunky 14.0 on loan which would have done for maybe 12 months, but owner decided not to put her on loan.

When I was young my dad said not more than one cat. Well my sister was a sucker for hard luck cases and thought if she kept a new cat in the garden shed no one would notice. It soon got into the house and I can't remember a big fuss. We had three cats in the end. You couldn't keep a pony in your garden shed I suppose.

I totally agree with you Amy ...... that was how I became the proud owner of so many LOL!!

Seriously though - why do you have to "convince" him? I just buy whatever I like and hubby would never have any problem with me getting another horse. Maybe you need to have a nice smexy Valentines Day evening and just pop in the fact that a new pony is needed at some point in the evening

Well I'd leave it down to Oliver to do all the hard work for you.....kids can be unbelievable persuasive..............!!!!

Thats is what mum did to me (she wanted me to keep my old ponio too) the result.......i STILL have my 30 yo pony!! Brilliant!!

They make good lawn mowers anyway and surely he has become part of the family by now!!

i just buy them and tell hubby there not mine if he manages to see them (but its not very often hes near the yard too much dirt there lol)
