Need to get creative with this girth

One of my horses is very particular about his girth. He really likes a string girth. It is soft, flexible, breathable and doesn’t rub his pink skin. The bonus of the string girth is that it is also split and the split girths work, like the Wow girth in the pic below, work well with the girthing arrangement on his saddle, but he gets rubbed by leather girths. The problem with the string girth is that it doesn’t have buckle guards and I have monoflap saddles with long girth straps. I have the stubben dressage string girth, but that padding on the buckles holds them together, which doesn’t work as well with the saddle

Can anyone think of something I can make or buy that’ll work as individual buckle guards on each buckle? Ideally fabric or neoprene type. Definitely not leather. I was thinking some sort of bridle padding, but can’t find anything that looks like it’s fit the bill.

Just use a normal girth guard the wrong way round so the leather flap is between girth and skin but cover the leather in sheepskin or similar?

I need the buckles to be separate not held together side by side, and leather rubs this horse as he’s a huge pink skinned pansy!

It’d be far too wide as it’s for a cinch, but something like that but smaller would be perfect. I wonder what I could make it out of?

Can you buy some neoprene and make some guards from it to suit?

Cut the padding in half on the Stubben, so there's a bit of padding on each buckle, but they separate?

I agree with @cauda equina althought you do get cheaper versions which I have on my noseband, that would work perfectly
