Hi, my TB is completely the opposite of a typical TB and is extremely lazy and has very little natural "get up and go" . Can anyone recommend any supplements/feeds that will give him an extra bit of zing without sending him crazy?

What are you currently feeding ? What bit and other tack are you using, etc ? (as in do you need to use less to free the horse up a bit, with so many people over bitting and nosebands going through a craze)

its apparently non heating but since putting my boy on micronized linseed its like hes had a new lease of life! hes happier, has a lot more energy and the horse i used to have to drag to the school and field now strides along with his hears pricked :)

Haha! He's ridden in a snaffle, always has done, he's on haylage through the winter (trying to get him away from the feeder is like trying to drag away a hungry bull).
He's currently fed calm and condition and speedibeet, iv recently put him on blue chip aswell as he started to lose condition over the winter. He's always been very "diplomatic" shall we say, I'd like him to have a bit more oomph though come this summer as I'd like to do more schooling and a few more shows with him, but he's always a bit half hearted with everything. Hell do whatever i ask of him, he's very obedient, but he does it with the littlest most miniscule amount of effort possible!

We give one of our polo ponies Allen & Page 'Power and Performance' when she is playing, doesn't send her at all looopy or stupid ( she hayledge does weirdly!) - just gives her more energy and a bit more ooomph! Someone on here recommended it to me and it was amazing, a great find!

My tb is like that, and calm and condition made it even worse! She was like a beach donkey :)
I know some people have good experiences with it, but for mine it calmed her a little too much!

Ahhh maybe I should change the calm and condition to something else then! Lol! He is literally a plod, he's always been that way, but he's particularly ploddy lately!

conditioning cubes.
alfa a ( great 'boosting' stuff)
oil

is he rugged enough? Is he using his energy to keep warm rather than keep happy?
if he is loosing condition he obviously isnt getting enough food, how much do you feed and how often?
