I do not want to go into the 'why's' and 'how's'......what I would like to know is what is your yard policy on how long your horse stay's in after he/she has been wormed......as in a slight confusion with a certain couple of liveries at my yard......won't go into the full story....but,me thinks if your contract states 36 hours then that's what it is,surely? I have been on some yards where it has varied, and was told yesterday'You don't need to keep your horses in after worming!!!!'.... Erm OK.....feed back please to put this matter to rest!

24 hours, i think, although if they're out in small paddocks which are poo-picked asap, then i think they don't need to be kept in. some wormers kill all the worms... a vet told me last year that the horse didn't need to be kept in after worming.
sorry, probably hasn't made it any clearer!

There was massive confusion at my yard, and you should follow the directions on the packet

Basically you don't need to keep them in after worming with Equimax, but that's the only wormer and it is unique

Unless you have a yard Policy to follow, there is no need to keep an animal in at all after worming.

As long as all horses sharing the same field are wormed at the same time and poo-picked daily, you don't need to keep them in at all. If horses that share the same field are not wormed at the same time and the field is not poo-picked regularly, it really isn't worth worming them as they will just get re-infected with worms straight away.
