Bought a horse and it's not named on passport, only a 3 year old. So i need to send his passport off.
1) Do i only write a letter saying what i want to name it
2) Need change of ownership again shall i just include this in letter
3) Do i send it to the registered address for Oldenburgs???

Do NOT want to loose this passport!!!!!!!!

Get in touch with Horse Passport Team at DEFRA or German Equestrian Federation they will give you guidance. Don't panic.

Take a copy of your passport and send it recored delivery.

I'm not sure, but is there not an Oldenburg daughter SB in the UK? Or at least a rep you could contact for guidance? Are there contact details for the Oldenburg SB in the passport?

To register the name on an Oldenburg passport the horse needs to be at least 4 years old or have achieved something such as licensed stallion. When your horse is 4 ring the Oldenburg Verband in Vechta they are really helpful

No there isn't so if you register a British-born horse with Oldenburg to get Oldenburg papers its data is not uploaded onto NED until it is overstamped by a studbook based in the UK -- or a British-based DEFRA approved UK daughter studbook of a foreign mother studbook.

The UK agent for the Oldenburg Verband is Lois Allard and she will be able to tell you what to do and when. PM me for her contact details as I do not give out tel nos, e-mail addresses on public forums without prior agreement.
