Greetings all 😊

I was just wondering if anyone else has a Welsh youngster that matured a little later? Is this a Welsh tendency at times?

Madam was sold to me as a yearling. She was about 11hh. (came from a background where she had to compete for food)
Parents were said to be 14 and 14.1.

She's now about 12.3 on her rump at rising 3. She's very chunky. Just wondering what the final spec might be in a year or two if anyone had a similar specimen in a similar situation?

Thanks for your input. I really hopes she makes a bigger spec as I absolutely love her character 😍😊

Picture of Madam. Haven't got a better one small enough to upload.

11 hands and now 12.3hh ,I'd be expecting 13hhs. You might get closer to 13.2hh but I wouldn't count on it. The law of sod says its always the one you want to grow that don't!

My C is 5 this year. He was suppose to make 13 - 13.2hh but currently stands at 12.2. Both his parents were 13.2 but unfortunately he seems to have thrown back to smaller grandparents further back in his breeding (a few sections A's scattered on dams side). MY hope of him being my riding pony (I'm only small) is slipping away.

But my D is 4 this year, but very immature physically and is standing about 14.2. He's supposed to top out at 14.3hh. I'm hoping he's finishing going up and now just fills, but I could end up with little and large at this rate!

My rising 2 year old was 14 hands at 1 year old and has slowed right down in his growth - he's 2 in April and currently standing at 15.1 - his siblings are all 15.3 plus so I'm just hoping that he makes that as a minimum.....

Mine was 13.3 as a 2yo and last time I measured (at 5yo) was about 14.1 in shoes. She's 6 now and I'm not expecting her to grow any more, although I wouldn't be upset if she did put on a bit of height! She has filled out nicely and looks a lot less scrawny than she did at 2, despite not growing much upwards.
