Need your expert advice.....AGAIN!!!!

RIght.....have decided (after owning my two for so many years I've lost count) that I should invest in new jacket!

I mainly do bit of unaff dressage and my navy and tweeds have served me well but now need to get ONE decent one.

Has anyone got any particular recommendations (budget around 100 quid :-S really can't afford anymore rght now!)

Have had a look on the "obvious" sites but nothing's caught my eye although it's just hard to tell from a pic on the net. Will go and have a look in saddleries if I have time but just wanted opinions on what I should go for!

I bought a pikeur show jacket a few years ago ( iwas the same as you! Had my jackets for years) I think it was about £80. I really bought it for summer use as my tweed was to hot. Has a really nice cut to it and slightly longer sleeves so doesnt look short when you are riding! Its quite roomy and comfy.But maybe ive got short fat arms

I washes really well in the machine, has no velvet and I think it was good value for money.
 
Ah sounds good! See I've found lots that I love (inc a Pikeur one) but they're around 170 I think :-S.......will carry on the search! The one you've got in your sig is exactly the sort of thing I'm after (oh and I have ridiculously long arms!!..........so def need something that wont ride halfway up my forearm!

Mine is polyester so possibly cheaper. I wonder whether the ones you have seen are wool?

I'll go check out the website of the shop and let you know!!!

Yeh I really like some of the Pikeur jackets - they've got a nice elegant look.

I too, tend to buy without really processing what the shop assistant says when it's time to hand over the card!!

The annoying thing is, I seem to always need "stuff" all at the same time so it just seems so much worse!!

Plus my horse has taken to destroying most of his belongings recently which is just not helpful!

Ah gosh....decisions decisions!!

Size wise - how did you find your jacket came up. I'm inbetween an 8 and a 10 probably.
 
OOOOO not sure, I'm a average 12 and it fitted well, with room which I preffer, I tried on a Kentucky jacket and they seemed slightly more fitted but the size up was too big, you'd probably get away with an 8.
 
There are some beautiful Tagg ones-ive just just bought one, last night in fact!

Have a look on ebay as some of the shops on there have nice jackets quite cheap.
 
My friend has just bought a fab Caldene tweed jacket for £89, think it was from Ride Away catalogue. I think tweed is far more useful than black or navy, part for unaff competing, you can wear it for anything....but thats my opinion I suppose! I was always told to wear tweed until I reached aff elementary level. I event and BSJA in a tweed as well!
