So, to cut a long story short... I feel I have hit a wall with horses.

I have been riding and owned my own horses for most of my life and after making the decision to sell my KWPN in December which I had owned, broke and quite literally but my EVERYTHING into for 4 years I am now left feeling so very deflated with horses and horsey life. I did then buy a older allround type gelding ( who is a lovely horse ) but I am sadly just not interested and have sat on him 3 times in 2 months so I have put him up for sale and have a viewing tomorrow but the issue is I want to love it again, I want to live and breathe horses again, I want to have goals and dreams again but I am not sure how to get that back? can I get that back?

Has anyone experienced anything familiar? I just feel very lost with it all.

What exactly are you missing..... work out what it is (adrenalin, high level dressage, mutually minded people, being challenged) and find yourself a nice horse holiday somewhere gorgeous to see if that does the trick. A ranch holiday, or adventure trail, or amazing portugese dressage, they are all out there.

I would say, if you can afford it as it's not a cheap option, is to go and try as many different riding places as you can - have a blast on the beach, ride a schoolmaster for a dressage lesson, ride a spanish for a classical dressage, ride a heavy horse, go cattle wrangling up north; see if there is an activity or a type of horse that makes your heart sing and start from there.
