My mare over the last while has started whinnying to other horses ALOT.
She hasn't got a 'friend' that she has attachment issues with so not sure who she is whinnying to.
Anyway today it was awful, I was at a ODE and she began whinnying in the dressage and didn't stop until we started jumping. After xc she managed to break the bailer twine(not sure how!) and went for a merry gallop on her own around the event grounds, whinnying manically! Eventually got her when she found a kind person with a bucket of feed.
Really it's just infuriating as she's so busy calling out she doesn't concentrate!
Any tips to stop it or is it just something she will grow out of-she's rising 5, and also isn't in season at the min.
