My horse has mild sweet itch and tends to itch out her mane if not managed. Her previous owner recommends weekly washing with a specific but shampoo, which I'll do. The nit shampoo contains neem oil and it also recommended elsewhere for sweet itch. I've bought some to apply. It says do not put on skin undiluted so any advice on what to mix it with?

Thank you :)

I have a cob who will RUB himself raw on his stable wall just because he can so I bought a tub of neem oil and use it from the tub like an ointment never had a problem with it it's a good fly repellant and you can make up your own fly spray by mixing it with water.it down or smell very nice so suggest you use gloves if you use it I find it brilliant it's a great healer.

Thanks everyone. Have been applying it for the last week and she doesn't seem to be itching her mane. So early signs are good. It also doesn't smell quite as bad as I expected! :)

My friends sec D was demented with SI. Neem oil was the only thing that eased it. She used to glove up and slather it on. Liberally. He had 3 fly rugs, which stank after about a week of use. They must have thrown themselves in the washing machine. Her husband banned them from the house as they smelled so bad, so they were washed at dead of night!
