These people are adjacent to our fields. We havent been here that long and I wasnt sure that local rumours were true about the lady being banned from keeping horses. Due to recent problems (I pulled a heavily pregnant pony out of the ditch today and goats on motorway and that was just this week) I have investigated further.

Have called RSPCA, promises to investigate and call back. No call backs received.

What do I do now?

Am disgusted at the state of this farm - ponies heavily pregnant at this time of year, all over the place, new foal born this week and with winter coming :-(

I find it odd that the rspca previously pursued the case and will now not take calls. They are in breach of their conditions so call try the police although not sure if they'll do anything about it.

Try WHW (World Horse Welfare). They are far more proactive than the RSPCA.

I can't understand why they still have all these horses. Presumably they were fined, but not banned, which seems completely crazy

When you phone the RSPCA tell them that you have also been in touch with the local press (&do it) who are sending a reporter. It's like putting a bomb under them as they are real publicity hounds.

This sounds like a very serious situation which requires an immediate response. Contact the WHW World Horse Welfare or BHS Welfare Department without any delay.

I have been advised that the RSPCA are investigating. Although only in a roundabout way. I had called them again and I dont think my call was even logged - the person I spoke to was quite rude actually.

I am checking on the ponies daily and keeping photo evidence. New foal born Thursday, wasnt looking too bright but seems better now. Just hope it copes with the rather rough weather thats set in tonight. Also, two entires having a huge fight today so will see if they are ok in the morning :-(

You need to get more people to ring the RSPCA they only seem to do something when several calls are logged about the same problem so rope in some friends to call too.

And yes they are very rude when you ring. If the animals aren't starving they seem very uninterested.....
