Neoprene hock boots for arthritis?

When turned out? Or is that a really stupid idea? With the colder weather due soon I was wondering about keeping my arthritic mare comfortable. It's fairly early stage and she's only 1/10 lame most of the time but has the odd day where she's a bit stiffer. Does anyone else use neoprene hock boots to keep them a bit warmer? She is out 24/7 to keep her moving so I wondered about using them on really cold days or when she's more sore. Our grazing is well drained and pretty dry most of the time so mud isn't going to be an issue.

Look into Bioflow Magnetic Boots - when magnetic therapy started in the UK about 20 years ago & boots hadn't been thought of, I bought a couple of their magnets, sewed them onto an elastic surcingle and kept it on an old arthritic pony all the time - the result was very successful. She was on Bute then, but as the supplements arrived we stopped the Bute and gave a supplement. She was finally euthanased age 36 years!

I know this is a really old thread, but I wondered if anyone else had answers to this? Would be interested to hear if neoprene type boots or bandages would help keep hocks warm when turned out in winter at night time?
