hi im looking at buying some neoprene lined wellies as my ariats have died again! they must be under £100 have to be very comfy as wear them most of the day and be warm they must also last at least one winter, ive tried the seeland ones in scats but was told they are prone to splitting, i have heard of other such as caldene and toggi but which ones do people have and reccomend also whats the sizing of them like im normally a 5 but some boots come up small, i dont like muck boots as too short! if any one has any suggestions id be very grateful many thanks

I went looking for new winter wellies & have just bought a pair of Grub's from our local agricultural store. Size 6 for my wide feet & I deliberately wore some thermal socks (I normally take 51/2) Good in snow, ice, mud & freezing weather. Only been wearing them a week but so far I love them & a lot cheaper (approx £58) than Muck Boots.

Muckboots - Artic Adventure. So warm, comfy and very waterproof! Also they come in 8 funky colours. They're around £89. Worth the money because I know they won't split after 4 weeks!

Now I used to be Muckboots biggest fan, but the last pair I had only lasted a year before they were unwearable. The seam down the back on both came unstuck within six months then one split across the top and that was the end of them.

This year I'm trying the Ariat Stormstopper. £99.99. Not neoprene lined but so far are as warm as muckboots and have much better grip. Adjustable at the top, which I like because I hate getting bedding down my boots!

Got these because I have never had a bad pair of Ariat country type boots and all the ones I have (3 pairs - shoot me now!) have lasted for many many years.

Time will tell ..............

I really used to suffer with cold feet in normal wellies, but my lovely OH bought me some Aigle neoprene lined ones for xmas 2 years ago and they are just fab! Very, very warm and as they have a proper walking boot sole I can walk the dogs for miles in them too :) worth every penny!

I'm a 5-6 usually, my aigles are a 6 and I can fit in a pair of normal socks and walking socks, could probably fit another pair of hairy socks in as well. So I'd say generous.

Buckler buckbootz might be worth a look if you can find some in your area. I have a pair of Buckler work boots and Buckler wellies and always find they are very good value for money and a durable product.

Dublin deluxe very warm and comfortable not to mention cheap! I'm normally a six but fit in a five so even cheaper as child's size

Don't get the Dublin Deluxe, they're rubbish. The sole looks big and chunky but the rubber between the large cletes is thin. Stand on a stone wrong and the rubber rips. Three pairs did it before I gave up and got a refund.

My friend has the Ariats and they're excellent if expensive, and def warm.

I love my Sherwood Forest neoprene lined wellies- £25 and they've lasted a year and a half so far.
Have Dublin Pinnacles too for yard jobs and riding, had them just as long and they're warm and waterproof, but they bunch at the ankles which I do find quite irritating.

think im swaying towards aigle after many people have gven them such good reviews, the muck boots are too short we have lots of mud and very deep puddles by the horses, the lady in scats reccomended the aigle one but they are £134 in there so may search the web and see if i can get them cheaper :) wouldnt buy any more ariats as had so many problems with my grassmere they only last me 5 months max before they have split they have been sent back and replaced by ariat and cared for as directed but leather just isnt designed to be in mud and water all day, ariats customer service is excellent but they just dont last long enough for the huge price tag

My OH (tight Northerner) got me some Hunter Neoprene wellies of ebay - they are seconds, the only fault is that they are about 1cm different in height. They will be 6 years old in Feb, are worn daily and have gone miles - both on the yard and walking the dogs. They don't leak or rub and (if I cleaned them) are still like new. They were £25. So, if you can find a pair of them I recommend them!

Have you considered Toggi Wanderers?

About half your budget, neoprene lined, they are so comfortable & mine are on my third or fourth year with little sign of wear.

J'adore!

Ooo, forgot about them. I had them and they're brilliant. The cheaper version are great (tho not very long) and the more expensive version are excellent.

I have a pair of Sealand neoprene lined boots. Keep my feet lovely and warm. Wear them every day of the year and today I felt the tiniest bit of a leak in the heel of one, not bad really, this is their 4th winter. Bought myself a pair of Aigle wellies (brown with red neoprene) RRP something like £140 but paid £35 for them as they were odd sizes, 41 & a 40. Perfect as I have odd feet. Cant wait to start wearing them.

another big advocate of GRUBS boots, amazingly warm and super quality, all for a really sensible price.

I have the iceline pair and they insulate down to -40 celcius (lets face it we never know what british weather will throw at us!)

Muckboot and co (the proper ones not the copies) Iv had mine six years and they are still going strong, I wear them all year round too! Can't recommend enough, they are definitely worth the money; I never have cold feet, you can ride in them and they fit really nicely too!!!

Hyper drug sent me a sale leaflet recently with Hunter neoprene for £67.
We bought my daughter Le Chameau for Xmas but they were lady something's and only came in at £120 which if they last any where near as long as my old ones have will be worth every penny.

I got a pair of seeland estate wellies just over a year ago and am very happy with them. They are very warm and have a very good sturdy sole. Cost around £90.

The Muck Boots are knee high wellie length, not short at all - how long do you want them and how deep are the puddles?! *confused face*
Google Muck Boots Artic Adventure and you will see what I mean...
