Neoprene riding boots - do they wear your saddle?

I am thinking about getting some new neoprene riding boots. I already have the Muck Boot Tyne boots but I find them a bit clumpy so was thinking about trying one of the cheaper brands, eg Gallop, Arizona etc. However, some of them seem to have a reinforced rubber bit on the inside calf and i am wondering whether this would rub against the saddle flaps. Has anyone had problems with these types of boots wearing or marking the flaps on the saddle? Is it be better to have neoprene or rubber lying against the leather on a saddle?

To be honest I'm not sure. What I do know, as a saddle fitter, is that seams such as on Dubarries etc are the worst thing you can have against leather saddle flaps. Any smooth surface has got to be better than that, but suede or leather chaps, or boots of course, are generally the best thing for saddles.

Thanks all. I haven't had any trouble with my Muck Boot Tynes rubbing, but i still can't decide whether to go for boots where the leg is all neoprene or the ones with the reinforced panel!
