I have my first competition with Hemir on Sunday, Im really looking forward to it, but my neves will get the better of me on Sunday!!

I did one show, a few years ago, felt really sick as i was going round (horse was sooooo fast and my nerves just couldn't cope!) and was actually sick afterwards

It doesn't happen before the round, just during!!!

Does anyone know what i can do to stop this? or do i jsut have to live with it?? It's not the amount of people watching! I love competiting, i just get nervous!!!

I was wondering if it was becaus ei was sick once that sub consiously (sp) i think im going to b sick so pepare myself (does this make sense??)

sory ifthis sounds silly

I would try rescue remedy for the nerves, and ginger for the feeling sick. You're probably right about expecting to be sick, so try and think that you won't be (easier said than done) try some visualisations of enjoying the competition without feeling sick. Then try one of the CBT books that are on the market for a longer term solution. It might work and is worth a try

Rescue remedy is really good for nerves - but don't take too much as it can make you too laid back!

4 drips on your tongue about half an hour before you ride should be enough. You can buy it from Boots.
Good luck

rescue remedy and remember to breathe,
i used to get very sick after rounds (back in the days when i still jumped) and it wasnt till a instructor watching one of my rounds noticed i bearly breathed!
once i got the breathing sorted out i stoppped being sick afterwards!

just set your self little points on the course where you know you must think 'breathe'
