Well Rescue Remedy is amazing!
OK so here goes, felt much calmer and kept telling myself that it was supposed to be fun and it didn't matter if we came last but I wanted to try and get 60%+ in both tests.
She warmed up beautifully in a very busy warm-up and went in to the indoor school no problem had a bit of a look a the top corner but it was her first time in there and she was settled and did a really lovely test (P17). She just struggled with the surface in there as it was quite deep and wet in places.
Really pleased with 65% and 4th place. It was a very big class and there was some stiff competition.
Then next was (P16) in the International arena. Bit looky going up the walk-way and OH had to give me a lead in. Now most normal horses spook at the flags, the judges box or the photographer - Not my Diva. Oh no, she spooked at the C end and what I think was the smallest black bag I her ever seen!!!
Stayed really positive, gave her a wallop, jammed my leg on and using a lot of seat, got her round and she did a nice test. Not as fluid as the first one but no major hiccups. By the end her halo was back in place. We got 61.7% so not bad considering she was a little spooky.
Really pleased, think OH is relieved too as this neurotic female stuff must be hard going on him. We had a long chat and basically I think the problem was that I see him ride everyday and get frustrated because I am a mere mortal who rides for fun and I am never going to be able to replicate what he can do! So the upshot is I am going to be less hard on myself and focus on being positive - whatever happens!!!
Looking forward to Cobham on Sunday, will keep you all posted and will be back if I wobble again.
Thank you to everone - you all made me feel much better.
